FARNLEY KERNEL (Farnley
Pellinore x Farnley Ceres) was foaled in l981 at Farnley Farm. In 1982
J. D. Orear brought him to Orear Welsh Pony Farm in Kansas. Thus began
a long term love affair between man and beast. Kernel was best known
for his wonderful disposition which he passed along to get. WPCSA
shows Kernel siring 121 registered purebred offspring. Some of these
foals remain at Orear Welsh Pony Farm with the majority going to new
owners to share the joy of owning a Welsh pony.
Farnley Kernel was Grand Champion Section A Stallion at the Tulsa
State Fair Show in 1982, l986, l987, l988 and l989. During the years
he was driven single, used in the heavy harness pair, local parades
and used in the hitch giving wagon rides to children at the 4-H
petting zoo for several years.
Contributing to Kernel’s Legion of Merit were Dandardel Vee Georgette,
Dandardel Fergie, Dandardel Rivana, Dandardel Dream Lady and
Rowfantina Oliver Twist. Georgette (with three Supreme Championships
in 2001 alone) and Fergie have been successful as a Draft pair, in
ridden classes and as broodmares for Dandardel. These 5 ponies have
made a wonderful contribution to the Welsh world. J. D. appreciates
all the effort given to help him celebrate the Legion of Merit for
Farnley Kernel. Sadly Farnley Kernel went to Welsh pony heaven on
March 23, 2000. We are pleased to have his legacy live on through his
offspring |
